PROJECT TEAM

Meet the Interviewers

The people behind the conversations capturing the stories of Chorley FC.

Julian Vass

Julian “Jue” Vass is a lifelong supporter of Chorley FC and a passionate advocate for the role supporters play in shaping the future of their club. He previously served as Chair of the Magpies Trust, the club’s supporters organisation which holds a shareholding in Chorley FC and works to ensure that fans continue to have a voice in the club’s development. In that role he regularly represented supporters at meetings, in the media and within the wider football community.

Jue became involved in the Chorley FC Stories project because of his belief that the history of the club lives in the memories of the people who have followed it for decades. As a long-time fan and active volunteer around the club, he was keen to help capture those personal stories before they are lost. Through his interviews he helped create relaxed conversations with supporters, players and volunteers, preserving the voices and experiences that form the living history of Chorley FC for future generations.

Stewart Boocock

Stewart Boocock is a fitness and football coach who has played a positive and active role in the Chorley community for many years. Through his work in sport and wellbeing, he has supported people of all ages to stay active, build confidence and enjoy the benefits of being part of a team environment. Stewart is particularly passionate about using football and physical activity to bring people together and create opportunities for people to stay connected within their community.

As Head of Veterans and Older People’s Engagement at Chorley FC Community Foundation, Stewart works closely with local residents to develop programmes that support health, friendship and social inclusion.
