ABOUT THIS EPISODE

In this episode of Chorley FC Stories, Andy Teague and Adam Roscoe reflect on their journeys with Chorley FC and the role they played in helping drive the club through one of its most exciting and successful eras.

Adam recalls his early days at Victory Park in the mid-2000s when crowds were small and the club was going through a difficult period, before eventually returning to Chorley and becoming part of the side that helped transform the club’s fortunes. Andy shares how he first joined the Magpies in 2011 and quickly became captain, helping lead a team that would go on to achieve multiple promotions and rebuild the connection between the club, the supporters and the wider community.

Together they relive some of the unforgettable moments from those years, including dramatic play-off matches, big victories against well-known clubs and the promotions that helped Chorley climb through the non-league pyramid. They also revisit one of the club’s most famous moments – Adam Roscoe’s spectacular overhead kick against Boston – a goal that perfectly captured the determination and never-give-up attitude that defined the team at the time.

Beyond the action on the pitch, Andy and Adam talk about the strong friendships that developed within the squad and the unique culture that grew around the club. From coach journeys and dressing room stories to nights out and the celebrations that followed big wins, they describe how the players became more than teammates – they became a group of close friends who loved playing football together.

Their conversation highlights how the success of that era was built not just on talent, but on unity, hard work and the deep connection between players, supporters and the town of Chorley.

This episode is part of the Chorley FC Stories heritage project led by Chorley FC Community Foundation, capturing the voices and memories of those who have helped shape the club so they can be shared with future generations.

WHY IT MATTERS

These Stories Deserve To Be Heard

Football clubs don't just exist on a pitch. They live in the memories of the people around them, the families who have followed the same club for generations, the volunteers who give their Saturdays without a second thought, the players who came through the ranks and never forgot where they started.

Victory Park is more than a ground. It's where people belong. Chorley Stories exists to preserve that, to make sure the voices of our community are recorded, respected, and shared for years to come.

“I still get a buzz when I walk onto Victory Park… after all these years.”

— Bernard Wilson, Chorley fan, 60 years
